Bel Aire Motel

For the price, this is the best you can get in Missoula for your money. The employees were friendly and the service was excellent. The rooms have all been remodeled, and they look amazing. Everything was clean and comfortable, right downtown. I’ll stay again! A+++++

The beds are comfortable, and the location is great if you like walking downtown. We walk everywhere when we’re here. The place has had some cute updates, but they look fairly cheap, and the walls are thin. I heard everyone coming in after midnight, including someone vomiting in the next room, or maybe two rooms down. Some rooms don’t have a fridge, microwave, or coffee maker, and there were no extra blankets, towels, or pillows. It’s not the best or the worst. We’ve stayed twice and might come again for the right price.

This is the worst motel I’ve ever stayed at. The manager was rude and yelled at customers because he didn’t know what was going on with the rooms he’d rented. There were no garbage bags, drinking cups, or ice bags. They were updating things while renting rooms, and when we pulled up to ours, the door was wide open and maintenance guys were inside. One said he didn’t even know anyone was supposed to be in there. The customer service was horrible. They need help.

The front desk staff were very nice, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. But sleep and privacy matter to me, and several things need attention. Road noise and trains made it hard to sleep. The two-inch lateral blinds didn’t fit the window, so I had to use towels to stop people seeing in. They also let in the bright red neon lights outside. Showers during the busy morning period were lukewarm. And don’t take a room by the stairwell, like 211. The metal stairs clank all night when people use them, vibrating the window and door. I appreciate the effort to make an old motel cute and clean, but maybe the renovation isn’t finished. Curtains could help.
