Best Western Plus Canyonlands Inn

The room was clean and comfortable, just what we wanted for a home away from home, and the view from its windows and those in the breakfast room was beautiful. But breakfast is what really made our stay memorable in Canyonlands. There was fresh fruit every day, perfectly cooked bacon, and a great spread. Even the eggs and yogurt machine were just right. It kept us satisfied through our tours and most of the day, much longer than we're usually able to go without thinking about food. Thank you, BW.

The location was fantastic, right among the shops and places to eat. There were good offerings for the price too, including a dispenser with free hot coffee, chocolate, and tea, water coolers, and breakfast with pancakes and eggs. The rooms had a family-friendly layout, with a microwave, big fridge, and an extra sink outside the toilet and shower area. Still, I left after one night because the walls and floorboards were simply too thin. With the place so full over Thanksgiving, it wasn't a good fit for me. I can imagine it being a decent option when it's less occupied, but light sleepers may want to consider it only in the low season.

I booked a room about a month ahead, then realized the next day that I couldn't travel on that date. Expedia was able to cancel my other hotels, but this place said the manager wasn't there to decide and that they'd follow up the next day. They never did. When I arrived in town a day early, the room still hadn't been canceled. I asked through Expedia to move it from December 31 to December 30. Again, I was told the person who could make the decision wasn't in. They had rooms available, which I checked, but still wouldn't change it. I ended up staying at the Hampton Inn. Avoid this place. I'll never stay at another Best Western. Take your money somewhere else. This felt like they were trying to keep my money.

I spent three nights here for the Run Moab Deadhorse ultra marathon. The downtown location was wonderful, and getting to the rear parking was easy. Housekeeping did a great job each day, with made-up beds and a very clean bathroom. After long days, the excellent saltwater pool and large hot tubs were especially nice on the cool evenings.
