Bowen Motel

I’ve stayed here twice, and it’s been much the same both times. The Bowen Motel is right in the heart of Moab and costs less than some of the nearby places. It’s a no-frills spot, but the rooms have always been clean and comfortable enough to get some rest. I still like trying other hotels around town, though I keep this one in mind. This stay, the coffee machine in my room wasn’t clean, and black, plastic-like bits came out of the dispenser. You can get fresh coffee in the lobby if that happens. That’s why I took off a star.

I’d absolutely stay again. The place was exceptionally clean, and they had earplugs, vehicle-cleaning towels, and wipes for the remote. There was a fridge and microwave in the room, plus free laundry outside. Only issue, the floors squeak when you walk, and you can hear other people walking too, including your own roommates.

My girlfriend was dealing with altitude sickness as we drove through Utah, and the woman at the front desk was a huge help. She knew the area and even the elevations of many nearby hiking trails. She’d experienced altitude sickness herself and could explain where to go. The motel was clean, cozy, and well located, and the staff were pleasant and polite. Even the washer and dryer I used, which I don’t usually do, were clean. The price was hard to beat. If I’m passing through Moab again, I’d stay here.

Malia was one of the best people I’ve met. She always greeted me with a smile and took the time to explain things patiently and kindly. Thank you so much. The place is older, to be clear, but there’s plenty to like and I’d come back. Great location, washer and dryer on site, and a seasonal area for washing cars or motorcycles, with rags provided. There’s K-cup coffee in the room and a tub for a soak after a long day.
