The power went out one night, and with temperatures at 100°, we were without AC for four hours. We couldn't get hold of management during that time. The bed was soft and lumpy, the pillows were flat, and the tiny shower was awkward to use. Our towels also had hair and stains on them. The motel looked run down, and the for-sale sign out front should have been a warning. Our room was much smaller than the photos made it seem. It was fairly clean, but there was dirt and debris from a recent storm, along with roaches and lots of spiders. Management blamed the bugs on the storm, though the cobwebs above the bed and in the shower made that hard to believe. We even found a spider nest under the bathroom sink. After we reported everything, management offered to clean and spray the room. We appreciated the effort, but dead and dying bugs kept appearing through the night. At $142 a night, the stay was uncomfortable and not worth it. We wish we'd paid more to stay somewhere else.

The after-hours support person was very helpful, and the AC worked well. But despite what several reviews say, there isn't a hot tub. Our unit's door handle was loose enough that it seemed easy to break off, and the shower floor tiles were crumbling.

The location is the one real plus: plenty of restaurants and shops are walkable, and outdoor attractions are close by. Still, I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. The room felt overpriced for its condition, and it smelled awful as soon as I walked in, like skunk or something dead. The outside didn't smell, so I'm not sure what caused it. There wasn't a window to air the room out. It was adequate as a place to sleep, but nearly everything needed repairs or an update. The bathroom door was an unpainted sliding piece of wood, the bed was uncomfortable, and the Wi-Fi was slow. There were lots of stains on the chair, towels, and bedding, and the coffee maker was ancient. The walls were so thin we could hear the next-door guests chatting. Even by motel standards, this was pretty bad.

I've stayed at the Kokopelli Lodge suites a couple of times this winter and really liked them. The beds were comfortable, the place was clean, and it didn't have that unpleasant hotel feel. The suites were reasonably priced, and having a kitchen was a big plus since I don't like eating out much. I could sleep in too, thanks to blinds that kept out enough light. There was a backyard clothesline and a hot tub I enjoyed, plus a recycling bin, which was pretty cool. You'll need to take out your own trash and do the dishes; I don't mind that. They may not provide shampoo, but I bring my own shower supplies anyway. The two office staff members I spoke with were both friendly and helpful. I've found a great place to stay in Moab.

We like being able to store our bikes here, and there's good food within walking distance. We've stayed five times or more, and the rooms have always been clean. Some are small and short on storage, so if you pack a lot you may end up living out of your bags. The hot tub usually works, and they keep the chemicals up to date.
