Silver Sage Inn Moab

DO NOT BOOK HERE! THEY’RE CLOSED...... I used to really like staying here. The rooms were clean and cozy, the prices were reasonable, and the pet fee wasn’t outrageous. Getting a text with the room number and key code at check-in was convenient too, since we didn’t have to deal with the front office. But this past weekend we arrived for a booking and nobody was there. We hadn’t received our room details and couldn’t reach anyone. After waiting, we saw a sign on the door saying the power was going to be shut off for non-payment. They’d still taken the money from our account even though they aren’t in business anymore. So upsetting. I’ll miss staying here.

I might normally have passed by this classic roadside motel, but I’m glad a family member suggested it. The Silver Sage Inn isn’t a five-star resort, though my stay felt like five stars. The room was clean, the beds soft, and check-in was easy since they texted us the details. There was plenty of clothing storage, plus a mini fridge and microwave. It’s an older place and some noise comes through the walls, but the rooms at the back have beautiful views and the location is hard to beat, with everything in Moab close by. I’ll definitely return.

The room was dirty, there was no toilet paper, and dead bugs were on the floor. The fridge ran all night, and the air conditioning didn’t work. I couldn’t get hold of management. We’d already paid, so we had to put up with it. It was a terrible hotel, and we really hope we don’t end up with bedbugs.

I had a really frustrating stay and won’t come back or recommend this property. On my first night, after a long drive, my access code didn’t work. I knew there wasn’t an on-site attendant and was fine with that, but I had to wait for an agent to reset the code by phone, which was a lousy way to arrive. The shower was another problem: its faucet was stuck on hot, so I couldn’t get cold water and couldn’t shower properly. The water was scalding, and I could have been burned. I called support again but got no answer. Before checkout the next day, I left a few things in the fridge when I went on an excursion in Moab. I messaged 30 minutes after leaving to ask if they could set them aside because I’d be checking back in, but never got a reply. That was poor service for someone with a second reservation. I would have cancelled the booking, but didn’t have time to arrange it. A couple of days later, my code failed again when I arrived for the second stay.
