Fans were running throughout the hotel, and the entryway, some rooms, and gathering spaces were closed off. The pool was shut because of an indoor water leak, which was a shame. I also felt the room could have been cleaner. The bathroom needed a better cleaning, the liquid soap and shampoo were nearly gone, and the conditioner was empty.
I booked a suite for two nights so we could wait out a snowstorm, and picked this hotel for its pool and hot tub. Unfortunately, the pool area was closed for repairs, so we couldn't use them. The room was nice and clean, the bed was really comfortable, and breakfast was good. This would have been a five-star stay if the hot tub had been available. Things happen, but I wish I'd called before booking online.
The beds were about a 3.5/5 for me, and the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was better than I expected from hotel food, with a nice range of options.
For a chain hotel breakfast, this one is tough to beat. There was the usual fruit, waffles, muffins, and cereal, plus real eggs, which was a nice surprise. The staff were also really courteous and capable.
We weren't allowed to stay, so I can't rate the hotel itself. The front desk employee told us they won't rent to people from Columbia, MO. They said the rule used to apply to people living within 20 miles, but the manager has now added Columbia. I don't know why that's a rule. We've rented rooms in our own town. 🙄
