Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Mobile - I-65, an IHG Hotel

In room 221, the heat didn’t work. The thermostat was set to 80°F, but the air coming out was cool. One safety suggestion: bath mats should be available, since someone could slip in the tub and that could turn into an expensive legal issue. Also, keeping empty rooms at 68° with the air conditioning running seems like a needless utility cost. If it’s needed to prevent mildew or other problems, something around 76°F might help save on the bills and improve the monthly profit margin. Running unoccupied rooms at 68° just doesn’t make sense.

We were there for two weeks, and the staff made the stay easy. They kept our room fresh, and Sandra kindly brought us extra face towels when we asked. Breakfast was very good, too, with cheerful, polite staff. It’s also very close to I-65, so we’d stay here again.

I wouldn’t recommend booking here ahead of time if you’re worried about losing money. I reserved three nights online and paid a $122 deposit, with the balance due by 11:59 PM. Twelve hours before that deadline, they told me the booking was canceled because my card was “invalid.” They said I’d lose the deposit, and only $1 was refunded.

The breakfast room was clean and the food was good, and my room was clean too. I slept comfortably, and the staff were friendly when I stayed this past weekend. It was a great experience all around, and I’ll definitely return.
