Highway Inn

This place looked old and almost abandoned, and it would have been one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. I pulled up in my semi looking for a room for the night, but no one showed up for over an hour. Then a man ran over to my truck, told me I was on private property, and ordered me to leave. I should have read the reviews. Don’t stay here.

The room looked old, dirty, and falling apart. There was a huge bug crawling on the bathroom door, so I told my husband not to bring anything in from the car. The bathroom counter was crumbling, and the furniture, carpet, and curtains were very nasty. We’d arrived late after a long day of driving and were exhausted, so we paid before seeing the room. I’d asked the man at the desk to let me look first, but he said, “Don’t worry is very good room.” It cost $75, plus a $10 late checkout fee and a $20 deposit because we paid cash. I went straight back to demand my money back, and the employee argued and said I was lying. I got the money and went to the COMFORT INN next door, which I highly recommend. I wish I could give this place negative five stars.

The lady at the front desk was very nice, and the price was good, a fair offer. It felt like a safe, godly place to rest. I came for Memorial Day as a guardsman and stayed here. It was worth it!

I checked in very early in the morning while traveling. The room didn’t seem to have been cleaned well, and after going to bed I noticed the kinds of people walking around outside. It felt like a typical local meth hotel. The room cost between $70 and $80, which seemed steep. I wouldn’t have felt comfortable paying more than $40 including taxes. If you’re traveling with family, I’d suggest the Holiday inn across the street. I couldn’t stay there either because nobody came to the front desk, though, so maybe it’s better to avoid this exit and keep driving to somewhere better. I wish I had.
