Days Inn by Wyndham Modesto

The room was large and quiet, with a comfortable enough bed and pillows, and the shower had good pressure and hot water. We didn’t see roaches or bugs, though there were plenty of spider webs. But the smell was awful, like smoke mixed with an old person smell, and the room was stuffy and hot. The front desk said the AC wouldn’t blow unless it was above 75 degrees or something, so even with the fan set to coldest it pushed hot air into the already hot room. I couldn’t sleep. They offered us another room, but we were too exhausted to move our things. The front desk lady brought me a fan, which was nice and was the only reason I managed to sleep. The rooms were extremely outdated and ugly, and we only stayed the night before leaving, so at least we didn’t have to put up with the stink for long. We paid a lot for a disgusting, old, smelly room, and the deposit was expensive too, which felt ridiculous given the condition. The location made me nervous about our car getting broken into, though thankfully that didn’t happen. I would never stay here again or recommend it.

The room smelled like weed and wasn’t kid friendly. It was filthy, with bugs crawling around, dirty chairs, and stains all over the walls. It felt like nobody cared about cleanliness or guests’ comfort, and I can’t believe they charge people to stay in conditions like that. I wouldn’t recommend this dump to anyone. Stay somewhere else.

Do not stay here! This place deserves zero stars. Cockroaches were all over the ceiling, floor, walls, and bathroom. The room was filthy, and I was so scared I couldn’t sleep. I even stuffed toilet paper in my ears to keep the roaches out. My family and I were on a very long trip and too exhausted to leave, because I just wanted my children to get some rest. I’ve never had anything like this happen while traveling.

The desk attendant was nice, and the room was quiet. The pool looked appealing, though we didn't use it. Breakfast was very limited. I’d read the reviews before booking and felt misled: the room wasn't clean, the chairs had stains, the vents looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages, and there was a bad smell. We checked and found no bedbugs or other bugs.
