Super 8 By Wyndham Mokena/Frankfort /I-80

I regret staying here. The room felt depressing and far too outdated and low quality for the price. They charged $132 a night plus a $150 deposit, which is ridiculous for what you get. I should’ve gone to the Radisson across the street instead. For just a little more, you get clean rooms, modern furniture, and only a $50 deposit. The room smelled rotten as soon as I walked in, and the smell never went away. The furniture and walls were beat up, scratched, and falling apart, like they’d been there for 30 years. The walls looked dirty and damaged, which made me uncomfortable, and the front desk staff weren’t friendly. Don’t waste your time or money at this Super 8.

I picked this hotel on 9/24/25 because it was close to the Credit Union 1 Amphitheater, but I can’t recommend it. The room smelled musty, had damaged, outdated furniture, and the outlets didn’t work. The beds were really hard, and even the lobby microwave was out of order. I’m giving it 2/5 only because I had a roof over my head. You get what you pay for, so spend a bit extra for more comfort.

Watch out for the cancellation charge. I booked a same-day overnight stay through booking.com, then arrived at THIS hotel and found a sign at the desk saying there was a $150 deposit, refunded after check-out. That unexpected condition made me ask to cancel the room. The supposed “FREE CANCELATION” was only available at the property manager’s discretion, and although I respectfully requested a free cancellation online, I was charged for it after 5 DAYS. This felt like a scam, either something new or a con some people haven’t caught on to. Don’t bring your business to this Super 8 or any of their chain of hotels.

I made a few requests and they took care of them. Bobby at the front desk, Mr. Sha, and Brenda gave excellent customer service. For the price I paid, this place is pretty decent. Room 226, 4/12-4/14/26. 🙂
