Holiday Inn Express Charleston-Moncks Corner

Roaches, bed bugs, dirt, and hair in every corner. I killed a bed bug within minutes of getting to the room. We bagged our clothes and suitcases as soon as we got home because we were afraid of bringing bed bugs with us. I can't believe I paid to stay here. It's the dirtiest, most bug-ridden place I've ever been, and I don't understand the five-star reviews. My standards are pretty low, but I wouldn't stay again. You couldn't pay me to sleep here another night.

We were here October 24th and 25th, 2025, for a short visit with family nearby. The location worked for us and $150 per night seemed reasonable, but I've never stayed somewhere so disgusting. The curtains, chairs, carpet, and sheets were stained. There was hair in the beds, dressers, and on the towels, cobwebs at the windows, and dirt and grime in every corner. It clearly hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. I woke up to a cockroach crawling up my sister's bed beside me. I killed it, but couldn't get back to sleep. Over the two nights I killed two cockroaches and another bug I didn't recognize. When we got home, we took everything off and put our belongings in plastic bags outside because we're worried about what else might have been in the room. I saw reviews saying the rooms were clean, but that wasn't our experience at all. That's why I feel strongly about sharing this and the photos I took. I'm not confrontational, I just wanted to leave. I didn't photograph everything because I didn't want this to ruin our weekend. The pictures don't show half of it, the full experience, or the smell. There was no excuse for that much filth. For $150 a night, we watched cockroaches climb the beds and had the worst sleep of our lives. Maybe you'll get one of the clean rooms mentioned in other reviews if you book, but I wouldn't count on it. Please learn from my mistake and don't take a chance on this hotel. It's disgusting, and they should be ashamed.

We've stayed here several times, and Mikel, Lisa, and the rest of the staff have been great each time. It's quaint and very clean, with great shower pressure and a nice breakfast setup. Definitely recommend.

The rooms are clean and spacious, the bed is good, and the people are friendly. For a mid-priced hotel in a small town, this place is excellent. I'd certainly stay here again.
