Rick was enthusiastic about making our stay great when we checked in, and I’m thankful for his hospitality. My boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday in room 1 at Montauk Bungalows, after staying at a lot of Montauk hotels this summer. They were all good, but this is the only place that made me want to write a detailed review. The room was spotless, smelled like fresh cotton, and had shiny floors. It overlooked the water, with boats docked and a lovely green lawn in view. The bed looked like a foldable military cot at first, but was more comfortable than most hotel beds. We slept like little puppies to the waves and nighttime critters chirping. A couple of things in other reviews nearly put me off. The TV was a great addition: it had 500 basic channels and let us stream Netflix, Hulu, HBO, YouTube, and more. Most Montauk hotels didn’t even have working basic cable. The airport runway is across the street, but we barely noticed it. It’s not right at your door.

Locals showed up for bait at 5am, and there’s a runway right by the door. There’s no TV, just free bagged bagels and through-the-wall air conditioning. The toilet paper was hanging wrapped around the fan light, and some bulbs were out. Good times. Definitely worth more than $300 a night. Sure, book soon.
The Montauk bungalows were clean and comfortable, and the restaurant next door was fun with great food. I’d have given five stars if the bed had been softer.
Pretty basic.
Really good service.
