Comfort Inn Near Quantico Main Gate North

It’s a nice looking place, but the quality of the help may explain why it’s rated a two-star hotel. The night lead front desk clerk was very unprofessional. Apparently, she likes to have a drink or two while working. Good help should show empathy, listen, be patient, and know what they’re doing.

After driving all day, it was helpful to be near restaurants. The room felt safe and was spacious enough for an extra person. The bed was very comfortable, which matters since I’m picky, and the AC worked normally without being too loud. The room was quiet too.

Traveling with a group, we got checked in and settled into our rooms, then I found there was no hot water in my shower. I called the desk and was told to let it run while someone came up. After about 10 minutes, I called again and reached someone who saw the note but said maintenance wasn’t on staff. When the tour company met us in the lobby, the front desk person said he’d checked the boiler and it was fine, then blamed our group, even though we were only 25% of capacity. He offered to take me to the room to see for himself, but I’m a certified maintenance man. He wouldn’t call maintenance or the owner when the tour company asked. Maintenance was only called once the company said they would call themselves. The next morning we learned there really had been a problem, and maintenance had to work on it for over 2 hours. If you like cold showers and rude front desk staff, this is the hotel for you.

I’ve stayed at Comfort Inns around the country without problems, but this location was a different experience. I called to ask for a room change because a King room was listed online at the same rate I was already paying, both on third-party sites and the Comfort Inn/Choice Hotels website. Staff refused to honor that rate and said “prices are subject to change,” even though the price hadn’t changed. It felt like a lazy excuse or poor customer service training. I wanted to rest, recharge, and get the basic courtesy I’ve had at other Comfort Inns. This isn’t a luxury boutique hotel where you expect inconsistencies. Consistency is the Comfort Inn brand promise, and this property didn’t deliver. If you want a seamless, professional stay near Quantico, consider other options until its customer service improves.
