The front desk woman seemed nice, but all she could offer for the awful smell was air freshener. The room reeked of cat pee, the toilet barely flushed properly, and the sink was clogged. Huge beetle-like bugs, not roaches, were in both the main room and bathroom. It was disgusting. The location is far from just about everything, so it might suit someone needing a quick stop on a long trip. Just hope you don’t leave with extra bugs.

There are some basics here, including beds, running water, WiFi, and a continental breakfast, though the display was nearly empty, there was no juice, and the bagels were still frozen. Prices are cheap, and it’s close to Splash Down Beach waterpark and Legoland NY. You get what you pay for. The rooms and beds were worn down and dirty, with grimy carpets and hair in the bathroom. The bathroom floor was lifting, the tub kept dripping and felt like I might fall through it while showering. We booked for two adults and two kids but were told there were no extra towels, only two for the room. The hallways had large orange straps across some doors, making it seem like those rooms couldn’t be used. Card keys stopped working at random, and there was nowhere to plug in an electric vehicle.

Brady, my service dog, and I had a lovely stay. The room looked just like the listing on Booking.com, with plenty of drawer space and a fridge and microwave that both worked well. During the heat wave, we really needed the AC, and it worked flawlessly. The room was clean, the shower had lots of hot water and strong pressure, and fresh towels and a tidied room were provided almost every day. We were happy to find a working ice machine too. Emily gave us a warm welcome and made check-in easy, and everyone else we met was wonderful. The grounds also felt safe for evening walks, which matters with a dog weighing over 100 pounds. The breakfast was really cheap, and the orange juice tasted like it had been freeze-dried back in the 1950s or something. I asked the hotel to arrange a 6:00 AM wake-up call in case my phone alarm failed. They said they would, but nobody called, and my alarm didn’t work either. I missed the appointment, which was the reason I flew to New York. Don’t trust them.
