Baymont Inn & Suites Mooresville

For a quick weekend, it was basic but neat and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, parking was ample and free, the location was good, the heat and AC worked well, and the shower was big. Housekeeping comes every third day, so we didn’t get service during our two-night stay, which was fine. We could get anything we needed, like towels or coffee, at the front desk. It might help to give guests a small bag with shampoo, coffee, and other supplies for the days between service. The pool was closed, and I don’t know whether that’s seasonal or permanent. There was no breakfast, despite the website saying it was included, the pillows were small, and the building is showing its age. Not fancy or modern, but I’d stay again if I’m back in Mooresville.

The room was nice, but it hadn’t been cleaned well, and the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed. The bathroom is run down and needs an update. There was a mini kitchen with a fridge, microwave, sink, and cupboards, but it wasn’t equipped. We brought food, so the table and chairs came in handy. The big jacuzzi tub looked nice, though its jets didn’t look clean. No hair dryer.

The service was great and our room was clean, but the smell of cigarettes and marijuana throughout the hotel was really strong. The fourth-floor hallway AC was out, and the carpet there was very dirty. After checkout, all our belongings smelled of smoke, and my throat stayed scratchy for the rest of the day. The odor was intense.

I was there for a little over two weeks and my room was never cleaned. After day four, I started making my own bed. The shared-area carpets badly need vacuuming, and some spots need shampooing. There aren’t many working amenities: no breakfast, not even coffee, and the laundry machines don’t work. I was told new ones had arrived but hadn’t been hooked up, though the front desk offered to wash my clothes if I asked. This place used to be very nice, but it’s run down and seems to be getting worse. I hope they start taking care of it before it’s too late.
