Quality Inn Morgantown

Stay anywhere but here. The room smelled bad, there was no shampoo in the shower, and the walls are so thin you hear everything. I couldn't sleep at all. Breakfast was served at 7 and was bad. I'd never had eggs messed up like that before, and I couldn't eat them. This was the second worst place I've stayed.

We arrived at 11pm, so after the first room's cat urine smell burned my nostrils, we had to ask for the only other room available. It smelled of urine too, though not nearly as strongly, and we sprayed it with air freshener. If we'd arrived earlier, I would have left. The property looked terribly neglected, as though nobody cleaned up, and it's on a hill in a terrible location with nothing nearby. Such a dump. I don't give bad reviews easily, but all you want is somewhere clean that smells okay. This was the worst hotel of all my road trips around the country over the last 7 summers.

Our room and bathroom were clean, and we had no noise problems. The hallways, though, were dirty and smelled bad, and there's no elevator. Breakfast was a fairly standard continental spread, but looked a little sparse: waffles, eggs, gravy and biscuits, cereal, yogurt, and apples as the only fruit. It's located not from the interstate.

The desk staff were excellently polite and accommodating, and the owners seemed like good people who were trying. But the property isn't up to snuff. The hallways were dirty, the furniture was old, and bugs were all over the hallway floors and sills. An end hallway door to outside was always unlocked, with a gap that let stink bugs and other bugs in. One large bug reached our room at night, and we had to switch rooms. There were cobwebs in the rusty lamps too. Staying here felt like glorified camping. I'd avoid it for now and for the foreseeable future, if the owners ever get the property together.
