The TV had no channels or apps, and the few over-the-air stations it picked up were all crime shows. The room looked barely cleaned, with dust and stains on the floorboards, walls, and furniture. There was hair in several places, including on the single-cup coffee maker, which was the grossest spot. My room’s handle and lock were loose, and the door was hard to close. After we went for breakfast down the street, we returned more than 30 minutes before checkout, but both our keys had already been turned off. This was pretty far down my list of enjoyable places to stay.

The staff were all very kind to us, and breakfast was great. Our room had a beautiful view of Morro rock, and watching the sunset was absolutely stunning. We’ll stay here again.

The receptionist threw some rags on the counter and slammed her office door in front of me, leaving me speechless. Before that, when I asked to switch rooms, she loudly repeated, “You’ve ruined one room already!” She had rushed to the room before I’d even finished explaining what happened, then raised her voice at my wife, son, and me, saying over and over, “you ruined the room” and “how did you break it?” She also said something unintelligible about $700. My wife turned on the shower, and at that same moment a hose connected to the TOILET came loose and sprayed water into the room, leaving a huge puddle on the floor. Fortunately, there was a key on the water pipe coming out of the wall, so I shut the water off. My wife and kid started mopping the water into the sink. When I went to report the accident, The Receptionist Lady got agitated and hurried off to the room without letting me finish. There was also a hollowing noise in the room, a high pitch that faded and returned at intervals. I later identified it as loud noise from the worn-down washing machine in the technical room. When I asked about it, The Receptionist Lady suggested I turn up the TV and said she’d look into it in an hour or so. Rude, though nothing compared to what happened next. Afterward, I found another hotel on Google, packed up, and left. Lies and more lies! Anyone reading, please beware of The Receptionist Lady there. She could be dangerous, I think. Definitely treacherous. CC: Management! Please pay attention!

The staff were really friendly, and the rooms were very clean. I asked for extra pillows and they were at my door within minutes. It was everything I expected and more. If I could give more stars, I would. I’ll definitely stay here whenever I’m in the area.
