FairBridge Inn & Suites Moscow/Pullman

After a 12-hour drive, it was a relief to meet Holly and get settled. We’d accidentally booked a third-floor room, then realized that wouldn’t work well for my elderly parents. Holly understood and found us a first-floor room. Thank you, Holly!

We ended up giving up the second night and driving home early, so we missed important family events. At more than $250 a night on a busy weekend, that was a painful choice. The smell had gotten into our hair and clothes so badly that the kids noticed right away, and we had to wash everything to get rid of it. I travel to Moscow often for work and have children in school there, so I know the area. I’ve stayed at this hotel more than once. It was never great, but it used to work when other rooms weren’t available. This latest Fairbridge stay was appalling. The room smelled intensely of vomit and cigarettes, and I was gagging through the night. When we told the staff, they said it didn’t matter and refused to move us. Trying to cancel the second night brought rude, dismissive treatment. I own two companies and rarely post negative reviews, but I’m still disgusted and angry two months later. I’m considering formal complaints to the BBB and the City of Moscow. This was an affront to Idaho hospitality and left a terrible impression of the University of Idaho community.

The room was fine, and having breakfast each morning was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. The one nuisance was the toilet, which made a loud noise whenever it ran during the night. Still, I’m happy with our stay.

The hotel felt run-down, and it needs a full renovation. Repainting the outside won’t fix the rooms. When I arrived with my family, the lobby and hallway smelled of marijuana. I had an infant and a toddler with me, and that’s unacceptable. Fire the potheads smoking in there. UNACCEPTABLE.
