AmericInn by Wyndham Mosinee Central Wisconsin Air

Sunny at the front desk was great. My flight was delayed, and with the car rental place closed, they came to pick me up from the airport within minutes of my call. I was traveling alone, but felt very safe there, and my room was cozy with the heat already on when I checked in very early in the morning. My flight had been double booked and double charged, so my money was tied up. They were also flexible about letting me decide day by day how long I needed to stay.

The ceiling came down in several bedrooms, and the hotel had to be evacuated at midnight. Doors that don't connect to the lobby had no security, the heating controls were poor, and the bathrooms felt sketchy. We were forced out halfway through our trip, and I still can't reach the manager about getting a refund.

We had to scramble to find another place after arriving to find the hotel closed. Most hotels nearby were already booked for the weekend, so it was a terrible experience. It had apparently been shut down for a month because of water damage, but nobody notified us. We even got a text the day before check-in saying how "excited" they were to host us. Was it really that hard for AmericInn to tell guests the state had shut it down? Apparently so.

DO NOT BOOK! They're accepting reservations even though this location is closed. Wyndham leaves you stuck in the cold, saying they'll resolve it within a week and telling you to keep the receipt for wherever you end up so it can be "considered." Crying in my car while on hold with customer service in -4° is a terrible way to start the new year.
