Baymont by Wyndham Moss Point/Pascagoula

The morning breakfast was poor, with hardly any choice and sausage so hard it was impossible to bite through. The night before was worse. After a long drive, we found hair on the sheets on my husband's side when we turned down the bed. I reported it to the manager, and they offered another room, but my husband was exhausted and it was too late to move. I got clean sheets and remade the bed myself. Our first assigned room had clearly been left dirty: the bed was unmade, towels were on the floor, food was scattered around, and the TV was blaring. The manager said they'd forgotten to clean it, so we were moved to another room. The water there was cool, not even warm, so after trying to take a bath we heated water in a bowl in the microwave for a sponge bath. Something more could and should have been done. I don't recommend the third floor if you want hot water, and overall I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The room was spacious, the front desk staff were polite, and the rates were reasonable. It was fairly clean, though the floors definitely hadn't been swept properly. A lot of the outlets only had one working plug, and some were already being used by lamps, so getting the iron and ironing board to work was a challenge. I was working during the stay, and the WiFi kept disconnecting or freezing when it did connect, which made things difficult. Even with my “still sleeping” sign up, housekeeping knocked each day to ask when we were leaving, then pushed the door open to see if they could clean and collect towels and trash I'd already left outside. I didn't report any of it because I didn't want anyone to get in trouble. If I'm back in the area for pleasure and don't need to work, I'd probably stay again.

I like stopping here for a night when I'm traveling between Texas and Florida. The rooms are very clean and affordable, and the front desk staff are always courteous and accommodating. It's pet friendly, too! The free breakfast was a little better back when the building was a La Quinta, but it's still good. 🐶

The price was great for what we got. It looked nicely renovated, felt fresh and clean, and I was really impressed. I'd definitely recommend it!
