Breakfast was a highlight each morning, with plenty of made-to-order choices, fresh fruit, and homemade sweet bread to pick from. We spent the weekend in the Frederick suite, and the whole property, from our room to the shared spaces, was spotless and beautiful. Rick and Rita were wonderful hosts. I’d told them I planned to propose to my now fiancée, and they did a great job keeping it secret. It was my first bed-and-breakfast stay, and a hard one to beat.

Rick and Rita made us feel right at home. Our room was cozy and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend the Deer Run Lodging House if you’re passing through the area.

Having a private wing of the house closed off for our group made our girls trip feel just right. The rooms were comfortable and worked perfectly for us, and the house is close to both town and the lake. Rita and Rick were lovely hosts, and they did everything they could to make the stay relaxing. Breakfast was amazing, too.

The Frederick room was beautiful, and we both slept well in the comfortable king bed. I especially liked the soft towels, whirlpool bath, and tiled walk-in shower. Rick and Rita were wonderful, including going out of their way to meet my dietary needs, and the food was delicious. This was one of my husband’s and my favorite places to stay. We hope to return next year and would recommend it to anyone.

We spent each evening under the gazebo, watching deer and enjoying how peaceful it was. Deer Run Lodging House is quiet and close enough to Skaneateles for shopping and a stroll, a perfect spot for us. Our two-room suite felt private and comfortable. Rita and Rick were great hosts, and their restaurant and hiking suggestions worked out well. Breakfast was awesome: fresh apple bread one morning and banana bread the next, wrapped up for us to take along on our daily adventures. We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting the Finger Lakes.
