The rooms are roomy and clean, with handy kitchenettes, full-sized fridges, and mini stoves. They’re better than some so-called high-end hotels I’ve stayed in. May at the front desk is the best, with top-notch customer service. I’ll definitely come back!

When you’re living out of a hotel for work, the gym, laundry, business center with printing, and coffee available 24/7 make a real difference. I appreciated those amenities and the friendly staff. The downside was that rooms were hard to get, and I had to move to another hotel halfway through my time in the area.

The room ceiling had water stains, which is never a good sign. The hotel’s location is great, so close to Belvoir, but the smell on the entire second floor was a huge deal breaker. It smelled like curry mixed with death. I’m checking out tomorrow and will never stay here again. The ladies were wonderfully nice when I first checked in, and I’d have given service five stars then. But after spending all day at a conference, I came back to a smell that made me gag. I started speed-walking, almost jogging, down the hall to my room. I’d told the front desk about it that morning. When I returned, staff said they’d sprayed the area and handled the smell, but it was worse than before. Why did they lie? There was obviously no effort to deal with the stench. A coworker is at the Hampton next door and hasn’t mentioned any awful smell. I’ll choose that one next time. Sorry, Candlewood, but yuck.

Alondra at the front desk deserves special mention for courteous, professional service. She went above and beyond to welcome me and make sure the stay met my expectations. The hotel’s recent renovations are noticeable throughout, and my room felt updated, clean, comfortable, and quiet, which matters most to me. There was plenty in the room for someone staying days or weeks, including a stovetop, microwave, oversized refrigerator, and separate freezer. The supportive recliner was high quality and comfortable, and the newer flat-screen TV made the room feel like home. I was very impressed.
