Holiday Inn Express Mt Vernon by IHG

The staff were extremely helpful, and breakfast had lots of choices and was very good. Our room was spotless, including the bathroom and shower, and the bed was really comfortable.

I’ve stayed here several times for work and keep coming back. The location works perfectly for business in Mount Vernon, and the staff are kind and helpful. Rooms have always been clean, comfortable, and organized, and breakfast is amazing. I’ve had a great experience each time.

I called ahead about a room during the coming storm for someone medically fragile who might need to get to the hospital quickly. I asked whether they had a generator in case the power went out, so I could know there’d be a safe place for this person. The receptionist interrupted before I’d finished and spoke to me as if I were an idiot. It was rude and upsetting. She pointed out that we live in a small community, which makes it even harder to understand why a local business wouldn’t show some manners.

We’ve stayed here many times and usually been quite content, so this Thanksgiving visit was a letdown. With so few guests in the hotel, we still got room 324, and it was in terrible shape. The hall smelled strongly of pot, the bed wasn’t made properly, and there was hair on the bathroom floor. The tub’s repainting was cracked and rough, while the sink clogged as soon as water ran. Breakfast was sparse both mornings and nothing was replenished during the 20 minutes we were there. I hope this was just a fluke, because it roughed up our Thanksgiving celebrations.
