Cloudcroft Hostel

Stephanie was wonderful and flexible about arrival times, and the hostel was absolutely immaculate. The location also makes it easy to get to hiking trails, Cloudcroft to the north, and White Sands National Park to the south. I'd highly recommend spending at least a week here.

The spot just outside Cloudcroft is spectacular and easy to reach. For $32, you get a spotless shared bedroom, a fully stocked kitchen, and immaculate bathrooms. It also has that open, social feel where you can meet fellow travelers, like a European hostel experience that's rare to find in the US. I can't recommend it enough.

It was clean and quiet while we were there, and you could almost forget other people were around unless you saw them. Stephanie was welcoming and kind, with useful ideas for things to do nearby. The hostel feels unique and inviting, and you can see the hard work that went into building it. There's even a little trail to stretch your legs after a long drive. It's in a peaceful spot just outside the bustle of Cloudcroft, and the drive in is beautiful, with lots of wildlife. We'd definitely stay again if we're back that way.

It feels more like a house than a typical hotel, and the place was very clean. The location is great, just a few minutes from Cloudcroft and around a 30 minute drive from White Sands. A very nice place to stay if you're in the area on vacation or something.
