Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mountain View Silicon Valley by IHG

At $380/night with a $200 deposit, I'd expect hot water, but there was no chance of getting any for a morning shower. The pancake machine was broken, and road noise went on all night even at the far end. I'm never staying here again, and I'm thinking of ending my IHG membership for hotel stays.

The room was spacious and quiet, tucked away from the freeway. Breakfast was great, and every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. A genuinely nice experience.

First impressions were good: the price was low and the hotel was clean. But in two of the three nights I stayed, the fire alarm malfunctioned at 630 am and woke everyone up. It kept going off in bursts for around 30 minutes each time, painfully loud. The elevator was out too, and the AC had a musty smell. The location is great, so it's a bummer this place isn't better, but I'll stay somewhere else next trip.

The room was spacious, clean, and had the necessary amenities, including a microwave oven, though there weren't any utensils to use with it. Breakfast stayed the same throughout my week-long stay, but it was good. There was a cheese omelet, scrambled eggs, fruit, a pancake machine, some desserts, and the usual bread options. Staff were mostly fine, and room service was nice. I'm giving service 4 stars because they wouldn't add points for my stay to my account. It's a good place near the highway, though restaurants nearby are limited. You'll need to drive downtown if you want more options.
