Quality Inn Mt. Pleasant

If it hadn't been so late when I arrived, I would have given up on the reservation and looked for somewhere habitable. I booked during a road trip as a Choice Rewards member, expecting the place to meet the brand's old quality. The hotel exterior was dingy and the rooms were worse. Although it's advertised as non-smoking, the smoke smell in the room was almost overwhelming. The door's security lock was broken, so I had to wedge a chair under the knob. The carpet was filthy, the vanity mirror was cracked from top to bottom, and the tub had lost enamel after years of use. It looks like the operators aren't investing in repairs or maintenance. The saying about getting what you pay for fits this place. I earned credits for the stay, but I can't imagine using any location under this brand again, even if they cost more. The brand clearly isn't checking on these out-of-the-way fleabag hotels, and neither my companion nor I will recommend them to the many people we share our views with in person and on social media.

The front desk woman and her husband work incredibly hard and do a great job. I manage people myself, and I hope you know how valuable they are. Take care of them like you can't afford to lose them, because you can't.

It was quiet, the room was really nice, and the service was good. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful too.

Every room has been renovated, and the staff are great. They go out of their way to help. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
