Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton I-35/Mulvane

The calm, welcoming feel made it easy to relax after a long day. My room was comfortable, spotless, and had everything I needed for the trip. The staff were so kind and quick to help whenever I asked. I had a wonderful stay.

Izzy on the night crew is the reason I’d stay here again. She took care of the issue with real kindness and professionalism, even though it wasn’t her responsibility. She made me feel heard and cared about, and she’s a great example of customer service. If she isn’t already a manager, she deserves to be one. The hotel itself is very nice, and aside from this, everything was good. I hate leaving a bad review, but the day crew should have taken the problem more seriously. When I arrived at the Hampton Inn off I-35 in Mulvane/Wichita, I found a spot on my comforter that housekeeping should have caught. I reported it, and they apologized and said it would be dealt with before I got back from work. That night, it was still there. If they knew what the spot actually was, it would have been a much bigger deal, but I’ll leave it at that. I’d lost some faith after it was ignored, until Izzy stepped in and handled it.

The rooms have always been clean and nice, and check-in is easy every time. Breakfast is good, and the pool is clean, with a hot tub too. This casino hotel is a great fit if you like gambling, and the casino restaurants are pretty good, though not suited for kids. Wichita is nearby if you want more restaurants or things to do. There’s recently been construction, so you can’t get from the hotel to the casino indoors. That has helped with the smoke smell, which I find tends to linger when the passage is open. I do have a sensitive nose.

The staff, including the clerks and manager, were very responsive, and breakfast offered several choices. The place was clean and comfortable, and I’d recommend it. The renovation in the section connecting the building to the casino made getting to my meetings there a real hassle. We had to go down a hallway toward the parking lot and walk outside to reach the meeting rooms. Luckily, the weather held up.
