Sioux Motel

Quick service, and the room was clean and comfortable. We had our dog with us, though, and the $25 fee brought the room to $140. It also smelled like dirty feet. Maybe that was because it was a pet room, but my own house doesn’t smell like that even with a dog living there, so they could do better.

After a long drive, we were really grateful to find this place. The owner handled check-in, and it all went smoothly. The room was just as described, well cleaned, and stocked with fresh towels and cloths. There was a microwave and mini fridge too. I’d recommend it.

The Sioux Motel added a $50 charge for “suspicion of smoking in the room” when we stopped the following night. We stayed there the night of Labor Day 2025, ate pizza outside our room, smoked outside, then went in to shower and sleep before getting up early to continue our trip. We did not smoke in the room. The person who checked us in had even seen us smoking outdoors. This feels like a scam.

The young woman in the office was so friendly and helpful, and my wife and I really enjoyed our night there. We stayed October 3, 2024, and the updated 40’s/50’s Motor Court style brought back memories of traveling with my family in the 60’s. The beds were very comfortable, and this was the cleanest motel or hotel of our vacation. The bathroom was tiny, as you’d expect from a motel of that era. There’s no breakfast at the motel, but there’s a cafe in town.
