Admiral Motor Inn

The employees did a great job responding to my main concerns, but the room wasn’t properly cleaned, and it smelled like smoke even though smoking isn’t allowed. The place is run down, too, with rusty appliances and old, banged-up doors that definitely don’t seal properly.

On April 19, 2026, we were staying at Admiral Motor Inn, whose check-in office is next door. At around 4:00 AM, we left our room to see the beach, and when we came back, our keycard no longer worked. This had happened before at this motel and usually wasn’t a problem because the morning staff replaced keys quickly. The room was booked under my grandmother’s name. She is partially deaf and has trouble walking, and she was asleep inside. I went to the office for a replacement key and saw the night employee asleep in a chair near the camera area. When I asked for help, she wouldn’t let me in. I said I had my ID and was staying in the room with my grandmother, and asked her to verify that, but she refused. She called me “Hispanic trash” and said she wouldn’t help. I didn’t argue and left. My brother went next, and she treated him the same way, using discriminatory language. Then I sent my girlfriend, who is Caucasian. The employee first spoke politely to her and offered help, asking for the room number. When she heard it was the same room, she started using the same discriminatory language again. We couldn’t get back into our room and ended up sleeping in our car, while the employee threatened to call the police on us. This was completely unacceptable and deeply concerning.

The location and water pressure were the only good parts of this place. My door kept locking me out. At first they suggested I’d kept my key next to my phone, but I know better. They replaced the key twice before considering the lock batteries. New batteries worked once, then it failed again, and they had to replace the whole handle. The floor felt filthy and turned our feet black. Local residents were often outside smoking, and some had dogs, even though I thought the place was smoke-free and didn’t allow pets. The pool looked nasty, and I wouldn’t want to swim around with the locals who hang out outside watching people. It just felt weird and uncomfortable.

Right on the beach, with a lovely view from the room, and it’s affordable. The employees are so friendly and help with whatever you need or ask for. This is our favorite place to stay. The rooms smell pleasant and are clean.
