Arcadian II B11

The condo was beautiful and the views were spectacular, but the balcony made it feel downright dangerous for children. We were on the 14th floor, and the railings had gaps of about 6 inches. My large 21-month-old could easily fit through, so we couldn't use the balcony at all. No one had mentioned this safety issue to us. I can't rate the place higher than one star.

We stayed in 3A, a three-bedroom apartment with two bathrooms, a kitchen, and an ocean-facing living room. The appliances all worked, and the decor had a typical beach theme with an 80s-90s look. The bathrooms were on the small side. The location is right on the water, with restaurants, shopping, and entertainment nearby. Apartments A and F are on the corners, where a steady side wind blows across the ocean-facing balconies. They're a comfortable, shaded spot to enjoy the ocean sounds and smells. Apartments B-E have two rooms facing the ocean and two facing the rear corridor. There's a small pool on the ocean side, and ample parking at the back. Around half the spaces are covered, and those tend to get claimed first.

The pool was nice, the views were great, and the parking was shaded. But I stayed in condo 4A and won't be back. It was dirty, including the dishes, and the chairs were falling apart. The shower valve, I guess, wasn't working, and the bathroom sink handles were loose. The vacuum hadn't been emptied in a very long time, the carpet was coming up, and everything looked really outdated. There's no washer and dryer in the unit. There's a shared set on each floor, but it costs $3. WiFi was available, though it wouldn't reach the bedrooms.

The space was cute and in a good area, and we enjoyed ourselves regardless. I've stayed at Seawatch many times without any issues, but wanted to try somewhere different. This private owner rental was a first for me with so many problems, though I'm not sure they apply to every unit. We had to buy towels because I hadn't seen online that we needed to bring our own, and there weren't any extras or washcloths. We also went to Walmart for bed linen because the second bedroom had no comforter and there was nothing for the sofa bed. The master bedroom comforter had a big stain, so I washed it. The bathroom and shower had hair, and we bought cleaning supplies to clean them. The bath mat needs replacing. In the kitchen, I found a bowl under the sink catching water when the faucet was used. The living room curtains were broken and wouldn't close on one side. The patio rug was covered in hair and looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in ages. It really needs to be thrown out and replaced. Our first day at the pool and beach was towel-free, but we still had fun.
