Beach House Golf and Racquet Club

I’ve been coming here for the same week with the same people every year since I was born. You can’t beat the location. It’s beside private homes and the beach is usually pretty empty. There’s a public waterway for runoff, but I don’t know of any health concerns for kids playing in it. The lawn is well kept, the pool is smaller, and the hot tub water seems questionable. Parking spots are small. Customer service is the best I’ve ever had. The staff are friendly and go out of their way, and when you tell the front desk about an issue, they fix it quickly. Room cleanliness is a recurring problem, though. I don’t know why, but the floors have been dirty and some years we’ve found hair on the toilet. The pullout couch and chairs are very worn. I wish I could give it five stars just for the service, but I’d still stay here without hesitation.

This is our first ocean and beach trip, and the place has been really nice. It’s quiet and feels very safe. We’ve met some of the nicest, friendliest people. My favorite part so far is getting up before daylight and going down to the ocean when there are hardly any people on the beach, maybe just a couple. Our room is very clean and tidy, and has everything we could need for cooking, almost like a little home. The bedrooms are a bit small, but we can work around that. We’re on the eighth floor, and the higher view seems better. We’re definitely coming back next year. If you want to enjoy the beach and feel your family is safe, this place is a good home away from home.

The view is a big part of why we love Beach House. Our unit is right on the beach, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and it really feels like our home away from home. We’ve owned it for about ten years and are even considering buying another unit for a different week. We just came back from another great week. The place was clean, had everything we needed, and the staff were courteous and ready to help. We’ve never had a problem there, and I’ve never seen bugs. I do usually shut the patio door at night.

The pool was the biggest letdown for us. It stayed very cold and empty all week. Other guests said it’s cold year after year, perhaps because of the steady ocean wind and lack of sun. That was a deal breaker, and next time we visit Myrtle Beach we’ll look elsewhere. We stayed in a one-bedroom unit, but the bed was only full size, so we slept on the pullout couch. The AC didn’t work well, accessibility for people with disabilities was limited, and the parking lot felt cramped and too small. On the plus side, the whole hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, the oceanfront balcony was nice, and the kitchen was spacious and well equipped.
