Carolinian Corner Gem Views!

We had a great stay in room 1735 and would book it again, hoping for another room just as nice. It was spacious, very clean, and quiet, with a beautiful view split between the ocean and the street side. The pans, plates, and cups were all clean, as were the washer and dryer. We loved the lazy river and spa area.

I’ve probably never stayed in a better hotel. The rooms were lovely, with beautiful views, and nobody bothered us at all. When we arrived, they gave us a code for the free parking garage and coupons for free breakfast at a really good buffet for our whole stay. There are two pools, two hot tubs, and a lazy river, plus a DVD rental card.

For a good price by the beach, this place is okay, but nothing special. The parking is offsite, and breakfast is a two-block walk. The food was okay but had little variety, and the coffee was very blah. The lazy river is small and probably good for kids under 10. Our room was above the pool, so kids outside made it noisy. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, the shower rod sagged, and the toilet was small with the wrong size seat. The floors weren’t very clean.

The grounds were well kept, housekeeping did a great job, and we really enjoyed our stay at Carolinian beach resort. Debra made check-in feel like catching up with an old friend, and Keisha was polite at checkout and wished us safe travels. The staff were great. Thanks to everyone for a fantastic stay. We’ll be back! Our room was very clean, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast is free at the restaurant across the street, and it’s worth taking advantage of, though I hope they improve it. The eggs weren’t hot enough and were cold by the time we brought them back from the buffet. The grits, bacon, and fruit were delicious. Jen, our waitress, and the hostess, who I think said her name was Beth, gave especially good service. Breakfast runs from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m., but they start clearing the buffet at 10:30, so don’t arrive later than 10:15. For parking, go in person to the PAY location on 9th, just down from the board walk, and get a pass. At over 60, the walk to the parking deck was too much for us. We paid $50 for five days, which was well worth it, and the pass also covered city meters. We wanted to stay two extra days, but I couldn’t reach Hotels.com. I left a message and nobody called back, so if you book through them, be sure how long you want to stay since you may not be able to change it. We had great meals at Peaches Corner grill on the boardwalk, including a great sour kraut hotdog. Dining at the Flamingo was a great experience too.
