CMI Hotel 1935 Myrtle Beach SC

I booked through booking.com but couldn't get the room, and my son and I spent four hours sitting in the car while trying to find somewhere to stay. I personally don't think it was the hotel's mistake. I'd come back in the future, but when booking through a third party, I'd recommend calling the hotel and its partner ahead of time to confirm.

The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and quick to answer any questions.

We only needed somewhere to sleep after arriving in town late, so we booked this place through a travel site. The bed was the one decent part of the room. Everything else felt neglected: dirt on the floor, disgusting plaster, dangling cords from the TV and AC, worn-out furniture, and a stale, mildewy odor. The bathroom felt like a biohazard. It seemed as if the room hadn't been used in years. Crepe Motel, CMI Hotel, whatever the name, it reminded me of the Bates Motel. We planned to stay for two nights but left after the first. The next day we noticed a sign saying we had 15 minutes after entering the room to give feedback. The manager or owner refused to refund the second night and charged $480 for the two days. We're dealing with the charge through our credit card company. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs.

Vic was a great host, and the rooms were clean and near the beach.
