Condos at Sandy Beach by Beach Trips

For the price and convenience, I'd come back, especially for the three nice hot tubs. We had an easy check-in and a short walk from the parking lot across the street, which security patrols. Our Palmetto tower suite on the 3rd floor had a king bed, a balcony with two chairs and a small table, and a great ocean view. We stayed in May. The room was updated and clean, though the jacuzzi tub sometimes tripped the breaker and had to be reset manually. There was also damage to the cabinet under the kitchen sink and a little in the bedroom. Beach access was easy, but the gate only had a latch, and anyone could reach the ground-floor elevators from outside. The security guards were friendly and helpful, but didn't seem able to prevent people from entering. Marijuana smell lingered in the elevators and on the balcony.

The room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and the layout worked well, with a separate bedroom and kitchenette. The bathroom could use some attention, though. We liked being beside Family Kingdom and within walking distance of the boardwalk. The outdoor pool area was nice, but we skipped the busy indoor pool. The balcony would have been perfect if someone in another unit hadn't been smoking marijuana and spoiling it for us. There are no-smoking signs everywhere, so security should enforce them.

We had a great beach view and sunrise from the balcony, and the sand was just steps away, so we didn't have to carry our things far. Parking across the street was convenient, and bars, restaurants, shops, and the boardwalk were an easy walk. Staff we met were friendly and helpful, the pools were clean and spacious, and the elevators were quick, something I've had trouble with at other big resorts. Our one-bedroom unit, 405, was just right for my wife and me, with all the linens, towels, bath supplies, and kitchenware we needed for the week. The bed was comfortable with extra pillows and nice sheets and blankets. The AC could get very cold, which was welcome after the beach and made sleeping easier. I'd absolutely stay here again.

The indoor pool was a real plus while it was still chilly outside, although the pool area itself felt a bit cold. The location, room size, and amenities made the price worthwhile, and the room was decent. The pillows were tiny and lumpy from being washed so many times, and when I asked for more, I was given only one extra per room. The bathroom door was awkward, didn't fit properly, and caught on the floor. The wall AC was broken. I reported it the first night, then again the next day. They said they'd look into it and contact me while we were out, but didn't. I asked again on day three and was told parts had to be ordered, so it couldn't be fixed. They offered another room, but moving on our last night would've been too much with our things and plans. They gave me a fan instead. I feel they should have offered credit since the problem wasn't handled properly for three days.
