Days Inn by Wyndham Myrtle Beach-Grand Strand

The bathroom put us off right away. It was filthy, and the hair dryer had been left on the sink, so none of us wanted to shower there. My husband, his grandfather, and I were also kept awake by people laughing and shouting, doors slamming, and even fireworks. We were trying to get some sleep before going out on vacation. The pool was okay, but the hotel was so loud. We were told at the front desk there would be breakfast, and then found out there wasn't any. A terrible stay.

The location was the only thing going for this place, and it couldn't make up for the state of the hotel. Everything seemed broken or dirty, there were bugs and bad smells, garbage around, and housekeeping was lacking throughout the stay. The photos don't show what it's really like, and I don't trust reviews above two stars. My original review seems to have disappeared. Thank heavens for chargebacks, since the no-refund policy says plenty. Avoid this place.

We paid over $2,000 for two rooms for four nights, and found them filthy when we arrived. There was old food in the microwave, black mold, and nasty baseboards. I lifted a mattress and it looked like someone had taken a dump and flipped it over. Then I woke up with a roach crawling on my arm. The beds were rock hard, and the bathroom door was installed backwards and broken. It trapped my niece inside, and we had to take the door apart to get her out. The hair dryer in the men's room had burn marks on its cord and threw sparks when switched on. The company that runs the place said it would look into our email, then never replied. They offered nothing, and we had to sign a waiver without anyone explaining it. I've seen hood houses in better shape. Management needs to do better. The Better Business Bureau has been notified, and people should keep contacting them until this place is shut down. It seems they care about money more than customers, after so many complaints.

We couldn't stand to stay more than one night, so we found another hotel. The shower had mold and was broken, towels and floor were dirty, and the linens had paint stains. There wasn't even a comforter on the bed. The microwave, mirror, lamp, and everything else seemed disgusting, and the carpet was torn, even on the outdoor stairs, which felt unsafe. There was no breakfast, despite the website promising it. The online photos on the website and Google Maps are nice, but don't show the horrible place we found. I wish people wouldn't lie about it. A complete rip-off, and I wouldn't recommend it.
