Grand Atlantic Resort 601 Eff by RedAwning

Tasha made a real difference during our stay at the Grand Atlantic Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Whenever an issue came up, she followed through and made sure my needs were handled with care and professionalism. The rest of the staff stood out as well. The resort gets a 10/10 from me, with amenities that worked well for children of all ages. The indoor pool was closed for the first two days, but the team made sure the chemicals were properly balanced after repairs, and it reopened by Saturday. I appreciated their attention to safety. My rating is 4/5 because of the condition of the independently owned condo, units 307-1 & 307-2. The furniture needs updating, the general upkeep wasn’t at the resort’s level, and the carpet needs a thorough cleaning. A friend in unit 504 had a much more updated, immaculate condo, so the units clearly vary. This isn’t the resort’s fault since they’re individually owned. Despite that issue, I’d absolutely return to the Grand Atlantic Resort. Tasha and the staff made it memorable.

The room was clean and nice, and we enjoyed both the clean pool and the beach. Most of the staff were friendly, too. What made us decide not to return was the area for food. There aren’t good restaurants within three or four miles, just mediocre sandwiches, tacos, fries, and similar choices. We walked to Angus Steakhouse three blocks up, but the building across the street felt like a seedy crack house. When we left at 5 a.m. for our long drive, about seven people were hanging around between buildings across the street, and honestly they didn’t look like they were heading off to work. We also smelled weed morning, day, and afternoon, despite the rules against smoking outside or on balconies. I didn’t complain to the desk and it didn’t bother me personally, but families may mind it, and your baby might get a secondhand high. The stay was okay for the price, but next time we’ll book somewhere else.

The three separate bedrooms worked well for my husband and me and our daughters’ young families. We had a great time at the beach and in both the indoor and outdoor pools. The accommodations were nice and the resort is right on the beach, though you can’t set up directly in front of it unless you rent an umbrella and chairs. We ended up moving in front of another hotel.

We stayed four nights in a four-room unit, and it was excellent value. My whole family loved it, and I really felt at home right by the ocean. As a facilities maintenance director in Chicago, I noticed how clean and well maintained the resort was. The room was great, with clean beds and no musty smell or other issues. We used the kitchen, and it had all the clean cookware and amenities we needed, plus a washer and dryer. We’re absolutely coming back. Thanks, and keep up the good work.
