Happy Holiday Motel

Our first room was occupied by an intruder when we arrived. The replacement smelled of smoke and had no toiletries, no deadbolt, no shower curtain, and a peephole in the curtain. The room looked nothing like the advertised photos. I had to complain several times just to get the correct TV remote, and I didn't even bother asking about the cockroaches. The service was unwelcoming. After I got home from vacation, I became very sick, as did everyone else who stayed in the room with me. I've never written a review before, but I couldn't let this go. I'm surprised the motel is still open and hope it gets shut down so another family doesn't have to go through what mine did.

The location was the only good part. We just wanted a basic bed and shower since we'd be out all day, but the place smelled like weed the whole time. There were holes in the wall big enough to see outside, and the lamps, toilet paper holder, microwave and cabinets were broken. The AC didn't work either. I showed a photo to the front desk, and the employee said I just wouldn't be charged for it being broken. The bathroom was filthy, including the toilet and shower. The sheets were stained and had burn holes. They advertised maid service, but none came, the trash wasn't taken out and we weren't given more toilet paper. There are only stairs, no elevator, and our room was at the very top. The online photos looked much cleaner than what we found. We left after seeing the room and won't come back. I understand a cheap motel, but it should at least be clean.

We got to check in early, which we really appreciated, and the woman at the desk was nice and easy to deal with. The beach was about a five-minute walk away, and the location put us close to everything. My only complaint was that the sheets in our room had stains. I didn't make a fuss, and my husband and I still had a pleasant stay.

The woman in the office was very nice, but that was about the only positive. The room smelled awful and wasn't clean. There was someone else's hair in the shower, which was nasty, and the bed had stains. The doors were hard to close and weren't locked after guests left. There were bed bugs, too. Being close to the beach just isn't worth staying here.
