Ocean Crest Inn and Suites

The curtains were stained, the couch looked like it came from a dump, and there were dirty marks all over the walls. The room barely had any light. The outlets by the sink, which powered the main light, wouldn’t hold a plug and just fell out of the wall. We left early after finding bed bugs. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

This place was dirty, run down, and clearly not maintained. The kitchen cabinets had been screwed shut, and cardboard was screwed over holes in the walls and ceilings. The heat didn’t work even with the thermostat set to 85°, and the room never got above 65°. Cold air came in through the top, bottom, and sides of the door because it didn’t seal. The floor tiles were broken and jagged. We stayed at the Westgate Resort last year, and it was 1000x better. I strongly advise against Ocean Crest. It was gross, and I have lots of photos showing the deplorable conditions.

The website photos looked nothing like the property. It advertised free breakfast and showed a dining area, but when we arrived, they served only coffee. Nobody answered the front desk phone. The front desk employee, Shania, kept saying, “We are just a motel!” The room had roaches, wall outlets hanging out, and no battery in the smoke alarm. The patio door had no knob, only a bolt. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, and I woke up feeling beaten up every morning. There was no room service during our three days. We had to get our own towels and bed linens, and some had bugs in them. Young people hung around the hallways drinking and smoking weed, despite the property supposedly being smoke free. The bathroom water pressure barely worked. The toilet shifted when I sat on it, and the sink faucet felt like it was about to come off when turned on. The air conditioning barely worked, and part of its front blower plate was missing, so you could see the dusty motor spinning inside. The elevator was on its last leg, barely worked, and had no safety inspection. I have pictures and videos. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. The website and photos are false advertising, and the place should be condemned.

The staff were nice, and it was right on the beach, but two stars feels generous. The front desk wasn’t open 24 hours. After we called a few times, someone did come check us in. We didn’t use the elevator because it seemed sketchy. We pressed the button and the doors got stuck, so we gave up on it. The room had huge flying roaches, half the lights didn’t work, and the AC was lousy. If you want somewhere cheap but decent, the Polynesian is nice. I only stayed here because I planned the trip at the last minute. Otherwise I would’ve booked elsewhere and cancelled.
