We left after two nights of a seven-night stay, lost money, and booked another resort two minutes down the road. It was worth it. The management was poor, the experience was bad, and we won’t return or recommend the place. For what we paid for the week, the stay wasn’t awful, but I definitely wouldn’t go back. The rental process was frustrating. They wanted photos of my ID and credit card, a signature matching my driver’s license, and a selfie holding both the card and ID. I understand wanting to prevent scams, but they charged us before receiving all the required pictures. They said we could show everything at the office, but never told us it closed at 5, so we had to send the pictures to get the room code. There was no office in the building for questions. The owner was slow to answer texts, and the rental company took time to respond to emails. When we found damage in the room, I reported it and sent photos so they couldn’t charge us for it. A maintenance request was supposed to get an ETA the next morning, but then they said they couldn’t give one, leaving us waiting around all day. There was a strange smell when we entered, though it wasn’t unbearable. Weed smell came when we went onto the balcony. The ocean view was decent. They said the beach was steps away, which I took to mean about 5-10 steps, but it was more of a short walk. That wasn’t a huge deal, but they shouldn’t describe it inaccurately. Parking was terrible, with too few spaces for the number of guests. The owner first said we could use a meter, even though we’d paid for a room, then said we could park at the other tower in the same rental property after I said I wouldn’t pay to park away from the hotel. There were several problems in the room: one recliner was misaligned and hard to push back in; the shower knob was already broken and came right off when we tried to turn on the shower; some washcloths and towels had stains; and the sliding door was poorly maintained and difficult to open. After just two nights, one toilet flushed very slowly, as if already clogged, and sometimes tissue wouldn’t go down. Neither toilet had good pressure. The hotel Wi-Fi kept kicking us out, and it wasn’t private.

The beach was a short walk away, and the pool in this tower was cute. The tower service people were so nice. We had a great time, though the rooms could use a little updating and more comfortable beds. Use the hose to rinse off the sand before going into the lobby or pool.

The beach is clean and well maintained, and the water is warm when it needs to be. Recent rental management changes have also given residents access to the indoor and outdoor pools, the water park, and the indoor arcade on the property. As an owner, I’ve seen the building and management improve a lot over the years. Since we bought our place around 6+ years ago, the exterior stucco has been washed or repainted, the parking lot repaved, and the elevators redone to remove wear and tear. Shared areas are cleaner and better kept than ever. There are still things leadership and the community need to address. Housekeeping used to be awful and has improved, but it still lacks attention to detail. Our unit gets cleaned when it’s rented, yet nobody seems to clean under beds or in corners. That only gets done when we visit once or twice a year and do maintenance ourselves. Communication has been a problem since day one. We had damaged property, including a mattress or two, that needed replacement. Money was taken for the repairs, but they were never done. I’ve called and emailed rental management about it, and they still haven’t responded.

The pool and lobby were clean, and the staff were kind and courteous. Still, we had a few roaches in our room, no housekeeping service was available, and both drawers in one dresser were broken. The sails on the boat-shaped table lamps were broken too. I probably wouldn’t stay again unless they made some changes.

Don’t stay here. The rooms are very old and smell of mildew. On our first morning, the bathroom vent caught fire, and they didn’t want to help. It took two hours for someone to come look at the room. When I asked for compensation, they offered nothing.
