Ocean Dunes Villas Ii

The furniture and kitchen were old, and some doors were falling apart. The floors were filthy when we checked in; I called to ask for someone to clean them, but nobody came. I also plugged my Tesla into an outlet in the parking lot with my own cable, and a few hours later the lot outlets had no power. That says enough. Spend your money somewhere else.

The photos made the condo look better than what we got. Furniture was falling apart, there was mold throughout the place, and even after maintenance came to clean it, you could still smell it. I sent the host pictures, but she denied there was mold. I don't know why she hadn't inspected the condo first. The sliding door to the room wouldn't open because it was exposed on the first floor, with no gate, straight onto the sidewalk.

Kevin was a great host and even went out of his way to help us get one more night at another one of his properties. The place was cozy and really clean, and we slept so well in that comfortable bed. It was also close to the beach and some great restaurants. I'd definitely stay again. ML&R! Thanks, Kevin!

The office staff were kind and helpful, but their office was a few miles from the Ocean Dunes address, which is why I'm giving this two stars. The beach is right there and the outside looked decent, but inside it was much darker than the photos, even though there was plenty of space. The beds were worn into a V shape, and the headboards shook and banged against the walls. The floors were sticky, there was trash left by the previous tenants, and nobody came when I called for a light cleaning. One bathroom was nice; we wouldn't use the other because it was so dark and icky. The next morning my child found a roach by the bed. We tried to stick it out, avoided using the things provided, and kept our bags off the floor, but there were multiple roaches running around the pool too. My children were so skeeved out they didn't want to sleep. We stayed another night and woke up to yet another roach, so we packed up and left rather than let the kids' view of what Myrtle Beach has to offer get ruined any further. We sent photos of the roaches and dirty sheets. The office refunded part of the remaining stay without a fight, though I feel we should have gotten everything back except the cleaning fee. I'm disappointed by how deceiving the place was. It felt more like party central than somewhere for families, and I would never recommend it to families.
