Pelican's Landing 402 - 3 Br Condo

After a five-hour drive, my guest, my disabled uncle with medical conditions, and I had to wait in the car for two and a half hours because the door code wouldn't open the unit. I suppose we were spared from the filth during that time. When we finally got inside, the place was absolutely filthy and moldy. It was falsely advertised as a great place, and the pictures looked at least 20 years old. I asked for a refund and was told I could get the cleaning fee back. I paid $1,218 for the stay, including insurance. The problem went well beyond cleaning: it began with being stuck outside for two and a half hours and ended with worrying about how a filthy, moldy place could affect our health. The whole experience felt inconsiderate, and I was very disappointed.

The location is nice, and this unit could be really good with proper upkeep. But in Unit 401 the fridge didn’t work, and I spent the whole afternoon trying to save more than $150 worth of groceries. The floor was so dirty and sticky my socks turned black within minutes, with hair and dirt all over.

I’ve been coming back for years and it’s always been wonderful. The condos are spacious and very clean, and the beach is just a two-minute walk away.

The location is handy if you want to relax near everything, but this stay at Pelicans Landing missed the mark for us. The property felt geared more toward a 55+ crowd, and didn’t seem very young-family friendly. With kids, or if you want more energy or adventure, I don’t think this is the place. In UNIT 318, the floors were filthy when we arrived, and the primary bathroom toilet ran the entire stay. The listing said it could sleep 7, though in practice it only fits 5 comfortably. We didn’t have enough towels or washcloths, there were no beach or pool towels, and the small amount of toilet paper provided was a hassle for a multi-day visit. I wouldn’t return unless they make significant improvements.
