The whole stay was unpleasant from the start. The vomit smell at check-in was so strong that my son got nauseated and threw up. The room floors hadn't been swept or mopped, everything smelled musty and mildewy, the couches were stained, and the upstairs window was broken and let in a draft. The carpet looked like it had never been vacuumed or steam-cleaned, and the towels smelled awful and weren't clean. Worst of all, the upstairs bathtub was leaking. This was absolutely unacceptable. Code enforcement needs to shut this place down.

The front office was very nice, and maintenance responded super quickly whenever we needed anything. The kitchen had updated cabinets and an easy-to-use stovetop, which helped us cook and save money. Rooms are a bit dated, though some have had more updates than others. One had cute new teal and yellow sofas, while others still had older fabric. The floors seemed mopped but could use a more thorough scrub.

The location is ideal, right on the beach, and the cost for a week still makes it an option. Staff are super polite, friendly, and helpful, though I rarely see the same people on the next trip. I've been coming here for more than 30 years, and I think the same stained couch may still be in the room from the early 90s. Fees have gone up every year lately, but updates are few and far between. They removed the beach towels and outside grills and took away the fencing separating the hot tub from the pool, without telling owners before we arrived. It's time to upgrade the rooms, furniture, and appliances for what they charge per week. The sales guy is pretty creepy and doesn't follow through.

I'm handicapped, and the elevator was useless. We were told there was one, but the two bedrooms were upstairs. I could manage that once a day, but there are at least 5 stairs to reach the elevator, and after taking it up, we still had to walk down about 5 stairs. We could also skip it and walk up two flights. The building isn't accessibility compliant. There was no balcony, ocean view, or laundry. I could go on.

We booked Riptide with our timeshare points and were really disappointed. The building exterior needs a major facelift, and our unit was damp and shabby. Furniture was old, appliances were shoddy, and the bathroom wasn't very clean. The tile floor kept getting wet and slippery; when we wiped it, the dirt that came up was disgusting. I kept my shoes on and wouldn't let my clothes touch the floor. The towels were like old discarded rags, and the thin sheets were pilling. Shameful. We considered complaining or leaving, but didn't think they would or could do anything. We stayed because we had no choice, though we were booked for a week and left two days early. Don't book here.
