Our golf trip has been going on for 40 years, but we won't return to River Oaks. We came last week as a group of 20 and booked five condos, asking for them to be near each other. They weren't. We were told to pick up room codes before 3 at a location in North Myrtle Beach, 30 minutes away. The woman was at lunch, nobody else could give us the codes, and the lockbox only had four of them. By then it was after hours, and no one answered the phone. The four rooms we could access were very old and outdated, with roaches everywhere. The bedding was also wrong: each condo was supposed to have four beds, but almost all had two twins and a king. We could separate the beds, but had no twin linens, only king bedding. At 5:30 our golf package director gave us the emergency maintenance number for the last room. We left a message, and didn't hear back until 745, when property manager Ellen was actually helpful, gave us the code, and we finally got in. Since the rooms use codes instead of physical keys, they could email the code to the contact person on arrival morning. That would've solved this problem.
