The view from the balcony was sheer perfection, and the privacy curtains made it great for sleeping. We had a kitchenette with an oven and a fridge that was just the right size. A blender would have made it even better. Mr. Tim and all the staff we met were friendly and professional, and elevator access was great: there were four elevators on our floor, and they were fast. The one thing missing was more signs showing where the front office is.

We booked an extremely last-minute spring break trip, so at first my husband and I joked that at least we’d have a place to sleep. That changed fast. The first room I was given already had someone in it. While I told the associate, two other women came down to report that their TVs weren’t working. We got moved to another room, and the door numbers were written on cardboard in marker. The main light was out, so we used lamps. The bathroom light was broken, and its door had holes and wouldn’t close all the way without risking getting locked inside. There were two beds but only three pillows. I noticed mold on the lamp right by my head when I lay down. The TV wouldn’t work at first; after unplugging it and fiddling with it, we got one channel, but couldn’t change it. Everything was old, dusty, broken, and dirty. I didn’t want my daughter touching anything. We couldn’t find anywhere else because everything was booked, so the best part was that we spent little time in the room. Oceanside Inn should be condemned and torn down. It’s filthy and moldy, things don’t work, and it’s not fit to stay in. Even the internet was out. We joked that they should have paid us to stay there. I meant to review Oceanside Inn, but it isn’t properly listed on Google, and the attendant said it was a sister company of this hotel, so I’m leaving the review here.

I’m glad we chose Coral Bay next door instead. We could see Sea Mist from our room, but I can’t speak to its service or the rooms. What I did see was the kiddie pool, and it looked nasty. I took photos from our balcony. Our five-year-old would have been so disappointed. The pools at our hotel were all clean and nice. I don’t know whether Sea Mist has a pool problem they can’t control, but it was gross.

BALCONY SAFETY: The gaps between the balcony rails could be a fatal hazard for little kids, and they may be out of code. A child’s head shouldn’t fit between the pickets. If their head fits, their body might too. Kids need supervision all the time, but when one is right next to you holding the railing, it might not occur to you that they could stretch out too far.
