Springhill Suites Myrtle Beach Oceanfront

The lobby, patio, Bistro, and view are amazing, and the lobby stayed buzzing with people. There are heated pools and all the things you'd want. Breakfast was the usual spread: waffles, real eggs, bacon, bagels, and more. The turkey sausage was better than the pork, which was greasy, overcooked, and had no flavor. Real creamer is available, but if you don't drink the coffee in your room, you have to buy some after breakfast. My one gripe is that there isn't any flavored creamer in the building at all. Someone suggested going across the street to the Starbucks.

The ocean view from every room in the Marriott portion of this double hotel was lovely, and the location was great. There isn't free breakfast here. I liked the little shelf that runs from the vanity into the shower, too. The woman at the desk was friendly and helpful, and I had a great feeling when I walked in. But the room put me off. The beds looked badly made, and there was dust on the bathroom wall behind the mirror and along the adjoining wall, plus some curly hairs. That grossed me out. Some towels looked like they had just been rolled up quickly, and I couldn't tell if they were fresh or had been used. That bothered me too.

Ginny at the front desk was funny and great to talk with, and Rose in the breakfast area went out of her way to help. Everyone, from housekeeping to the restaurant and front desk, made the stay worthwhile. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was a plus, and the location put us close to everything, with some places within walking distance. The clean, lovely scent hit me as soon as I walked in. Definitely worth the three-plus-hour drive to get away from Charlotte’s ice storm.

The pool was great, and getting to the beach was easy. The hotel is right on the beach and close to lots of activities, though we came in the off-season, so I can’t speak to how busy or noisy it gets. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there’s a nice lounge area in the lobby. The free breakfast was very good for a hotel. Parking is across the street and pretty tight, so a smaller car would help.
