Twilight Surf Hotel Ocean Front

The only reason I’m giving it two stars is that it provided a bed and roof. I’m not usually picky about hotels and will stay in a hole in the wall, but this place was absolutely disgusting. It was a last-minute Memorial Day weekend booking because there weren’t many options left. I’d have had a better time lying in my backyard. The floors were caked in who knows what, so don’t take your shoes off in the room. I’ll never go back.

We left after the first night, even though this was a last-minute resort stay. I should’ve just slept in the car. The place was filthy and infested with cockroaches, and it felt like a health hazard. The bathrooms were clogged, the carpet was caked in god knows what, and I don’t even want to think about the beds. I can’t understand how the place is still operating or whether it has passed any welfare checks.

The ceiling leaked, the floor was dirty, and there was mold on the curtains. In the bathroom I found pubic hair in the shower, clogged sinks and shower, a live roach that ran behind the sink, a dead one on the floor, and what looked like a roach egg there too. When we asked for a refund, they refused and only offered us another disgusting room. They sent a “handyman” for the drains, but he left the sink leaking onto a towel. He said he didn't know how to fix it and went to get coffee with another worker. There were people who appeared to be drug addicts hanging around outside. This was easily the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I honestly can't name one good thing about it. Do not stay here.

We went to Myrtle Beach from 05/09/25 to 05/11/25 for our first wedding anniversary, but didn't feel safe at this motel and won't return. There was too much noise, drugs, homeless people, and lot lizards around, and cops were at the hotel that weekend. We were in the second building from the check-in office, which was being renovated. Residents were living on its ground floor, and two broken-down vehicles sat in the side lot. The building felt run down, there was no elevator, and our room smelled bad. We felt the motel showed no respect for guests. I couldn't imagine booking it again.
