Our third-floor room was beautiful, and I never felt unsafe on the property. Still, there was police activity on several days because of domestic issues on the second floor. It seems the rooms are now individually owned, though I remember this place as a real hole-in-the-wall, kind of a “trap spot.” The unit’s breaker kept tripping, and guests can’t reach the panel, so we had to call the front desk each time to get it reset. One day the maintenance man sighed and said, “this is getting old,” as if we wanted to sit in the dark. I think maintenance also disables the elevator at night, since after 9:00 it almost never worked, for no clear reason. Laundry was unpredictable too. The door sign said the laundry room was open until 9:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, but at 6:00 p.m. Friday I was locked out with my clothes still inside. The front desk and maintenance close after 6:00 p.m.; calls just rang without anyone answering. We were lucky the breaker didn’t trip again after closing, or we would have been without power until they opened around 9:00 the next morning. The property managers and maintenance staff were also unfriendly and not much help.

The hotel’s a block from the ocean, and the pool was nice, though it shut right at 9:00 p.m. every night. Our room and the housekeeping left a lot to be desired. Several drawers were broken, the room knob looked ready to fall off, and the beds felt like they might break, even though they were fairly comfortable. I wouldn’t book here again, but at least it didn’t spoil the whole trip.

We drove 12 hours and it was worth it. The place was quiet, very clean, and the people were so nice. The owner was sweet too. Our room had beds, couches, TVs, a stove, microwave, fridge with freezer, and a bathroom. The couch pulled out into another bed, which was a plus. There’s a pool, lazy river, baby pool, and elevator in the three-floor hotel, plus a good number of parking spaces. It’s not far from the beach. There’s a washer and dryer room, but you need quarters. I’ll definitely stay here again.

We had an ocean view, though I know the rooms vary and can’t speak for all of them. The pool was quiet and clean, and the beach is just a minute away.

We came over from Compass Cove after a few days there. It was very expensive, the carpet was absolutely disgusting, and we didn’t like how we were treated. We have three kids and spotted the kiddie pool at Wave Rider from the road, so we checked it out. Everyone at the front office was welcoming, and every front desk person I met was genuinely nice. They gave us an excellent deal to stay a few more days, and I’m extremely picky about where my kids and I stay. The room was perfect for my family: two beds, a bath, kitchen, living room with a pullout sofa, and a balcony overlooking the pools. We could even see the ocean from the room, and the beach was just across the road. I couldn’t find a deal like this anywhere else. We’ll tell our friends back home and stay here from now on.
