Rodeway Inn & Suites

We spent two weeknights here and would stay again. It’s a good choice if you mainly need somewhere to sleep or change, like we did while family stayed nearby in a condo. The room was small but decent and clean, with a cute vintage-style mini fridge, a good bed, clean bathroom, and hospital-quality linens. The location was great and there’s a restaurant next door. The Wi-Fi was pretty useless; it wouldn’t even load email.

We used to stay here for years when it was Travelers Inn, a lovely beach motel where the owners were always around, day or night, to take care of requests. It had the sand, Atlantic salt spray, and beach smell, but that was part of the charm. Now it’s owned by a faceless corporation. We were on the third floor, and the room seemed acceptable until bedtime. I’ve never had a bed hurt me so much. My Navy rack and pillow in boot camp were ten times more comfortable. We stayed just one night. We won’t return or recommend it.

We’ve loved our week here. It’s a smaller room, but it was incredibly clean, and the employees are some of the nicest people. My husband and I usually look for a simple place with good service, a clean room, and a location that works for us, since we mostly just sleep there. This was a great value. Jennette's pier is right across the road, and we could cross over to the beach. Shops and restaurants are close by, and Manteo is nearby too. We’d definitely return.

The room had a different layout that worked out fine, plus a mini fridge and microwave. It did have a dated smell, and the 70s-era bedspread fit right in. I was here for a wedding on the Pier across the street, so the location was perfect. The staff were informative and helpful, especially when my room key stopped working at 4am. Rodeway Inn & Suites suited my situation well, and I’d recommend it to people staying in Nags Head.
