Vino Bello Resort

We’ve owned timeshares for 30 years and started exchanging about 20 years ago. This is honestly one of the nicest Wyndham properties we've visited. Our one bedroom King suite was spacious, clean, and beautiful, with a large kitchen and a laundry closet containing a top-line Bosch washer and dryer. A couple of small maintenance issues came up, but they were fixed quickly and efficiently. All the staff were great. We arrived around 1:40 p.m. and didn't expect the room to be ready, but Khileem, apologies if I’ve spelled that wrong, got us checked in right away and was friendly and professional. At the Concierge desk, Claudette did invite us to an informative sales presentation, as they often do, but accepted our no graciously. She was also more helpful than any other Wyndham Concierge I've dealt with. We’re looking forward to coming back.

I'll stay here again, though with lower expectations. The room is spacious and well lit, with a jetted tub in the bedroom, a large bathroom shower, a full kitchen with range and microwave, and a small balcony with chairs and a table. There's a shuttle to Napa proper and plenty of amenities on site. Costco is now just a mile away. Still, the place has worn over the years. It used to feel luxurious, with darker rooms, heavy burgundy curtains, and a well-stocked kitchen. The newer decor is lighter and more hotel-like, and the appliances are aging. Kitchen equipment is sparse: one frying pan without a lid, two small saucepans, one pot, dull Hinkels knives, and flatware. There are only two ice makers for three buildings, and they're tucked away. A small irritation, but the cable listings don't match local listings and there's no guide channel.

We've had two awful stays at the Vino Bello Resort. On our first visit, several things in the room didn't work, including the fireplace we were excited to use. Maintenance came but couldn't fix it. We asked to move, but were told there wasn't another room. We also found several pairs of men's underwear, so the room clearly hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. About a week ago we gave it another try for our anniversary. That was a mistake. We'd prepaid for a one bedroom with a fireplace, but at check-in they said they'd given it away and only had a studio. After going back and forth, we took the studio and planned to sort out a refund later. We've called and emailed several times about what happened and the refund we expect, but nobody has responded. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Stay away.

The room was quite nice, clean, and well stocked, and the location made it easy to find other places to eat. The resort itself could be good, but it needs management that pays attention to owners. We traveled with guests and were assigned to separate buildings, which had never happened to us before. Events across the street filled the parking lot for the first three nights. They could have let two or three people park in the driveways instead of turning away people without parking passes. Private parties also took over food venues much of the time we were there, including Saturday, which was check-in day.
