Residence Inn by Marriott Naples

The staff made this stay feel special. They learned my name, kept in touch, and went out of their way to help. When a delivery arrived, they called to say they were holding it safely. The hotel was sold out for the next night, but the front desk still helped me figure out how to extend my stay. The Residence Inn in Naples is a bit older, but the care from the team more than makes up for that. It has the charm of a small, high-end mom-and-pop hotel. I heard some of the housekeeping team have been there from 3 to 20 years, which says a lot about how much pride they take in their work and the environment. I travel for work and have spent over 150 nights at Marriott properties this year alone. Service like this is rare now, and it lifted the whole experience. Highly recommend.

The staff were lovely and accommodating, and the pool area was lovely too. But our renovated room in building #4 had several problems: we ran out of hot water, it smelled musty when we came in, and the kitchen knife had crusty food on it. The lighting was poor, and the room phone didn't work. I asked for it to be fixed, but it wasn't. We were only there two nights, luckily. This wasn't the usual Marriott experience for us.

Elana was helping a guest get his wheelchair out of his car when I arrived, and that kind of extra effort in the cold really stood out. She was accommodating, upgraded my room, and shared useful local information at check-in. I asked for extra towels and they showed up within five minutes. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby too. Breakfast was just mid-tier, with not many gluten-free choices. My room didn't have tissues or an ice tray.

Breakfast was great, and we could still use the pool and hot tub while the property was going through a major refurb. Our stay wasn't interrupted. The staff were wonderful and the location was good. Room 138 had a bad smell. Housekeeping came in soon after check-in and helped, but the odor was back later that night. The windows wouldn't open, even on the first floor, so airing it out wasn't possible. We bought air freshener to make it livable for our 3 nights, 4 days. Housekeeping every other day also wasn't ideal, with lots of back and forth for towels and pillows. A three-star stay with great amenities. I'm sure it'll be fantastic once the refurb is done.
